Photographer Yael Nov and interior designer Natalie Myers present "Still Life 01." A framed or unframed print available in three sizes, featuring a Via Maris Kiddush Cup, and benefiting Magen David Adom.
Having always been drawn to sumptuous Dutch still life Vanitas paintings from the seventeenth century, the team envisioned a modern version captured on 35mm film. It was not until after the atrocities of October 7th that this project came to fruition. Myers says "My appreciation for our Jewish heritage and a profound understanding of the fragility of this precious life shifted the concept of this piece toward a Jewish Memento Mori. Collaborating with Yael Nov, an artist who shares my sentiments and inspiration, resulted in a thoughtful composition ripe with symbolic and celebratory objects representing the Shabbat, Jewish rituals, and the history of the Diaspora."
